La – Where?
Ladakh is the high plateau home to nomadic herders, self–sufficient farmers, peaceful monasteries, rich history and a stark, rugged natural landscape.
This "land of high passes" is the northernmost region in India, nestled between the Karakorum and Himalayan mountain ranges.
Often called, "Little Tibet", Ladakh has been strongly influenced by the culture of neighboring Tibet
and today remains a stable region centered on natural and agricultural resources.
Much of the area is over 3,000 meters (9,800 feet) in altitude
while it's highest peaks (the summits of Nun and Kun)
touch the sky at over 7,000 meters (23,000 feet).

Zanskar Trek Overview: June 29 to July 26, 2008, from New Delhi. For the hardy individual, this classic trip offers the opportunity to enjoy unspoiled Tibetan culture and magnificent, rough–hewn scenery. This trek is strenuous with rugged and exposed trails — meant for experienced hikers in good health. Ponies carry gear while our staff works their magic with tents and meals, so you just carry a small day pack with your personal items. The remoteness of this long, high–altitude ramble make it a true, satisfying wilderness challenge. A breathtaking trip (literally), you'll create many fond memories and astonishing pictures. It could be the experience of your lifetime! Read More

Markha Valley Overview: August 4 to 22, 2008, from New Delhi. This is a challenging and inspirational trek circuit though "Little Tibet." Remote, rugged hiking over two major passes along the high–altitude plateau north of the Himalaya. Enjoy unspoiled Tibetan culture set against the backdrop of magnificent scenery. As you trek, our faithful ponies carry your gear while our staff prepares savory and satisfying meals. You'll have time to relax in Leh before and after the trek too! This remote area was only opened to outsiders about twenty years ago. Be prepared for "roughing it" as conditions are as variable as the topography on trails and bridges. You won't forget the wonders of Markha Valley! Read More
